Specialty of KVK

Soybean has been getting momentum since 2012 in Begusarai district and Paddy and Kharif Maize has replaced by Soybean at large scale Currently, Soybean grows in 29000 ha and productivity is also in ton of 24.00 q/ha. KVK, Begusarai was first of all taken initiative to create awareness among the farmers regarding soybean cultivation and also imparted training to the soybean grown along with front line demonstration and need based OFT in this way soybean appears major crop in Begusarai district and farmers are getting good income and this crop found to be instrumental in restoring soil fertility.

 

Polyhouse

 

At KVK we have one polyhouse and one net house in one farm, that is used for raising seedling, establishing nursery and other vegetables, like tomato, brinjal, capsicum etc. We produce seedlings and planting materials of these crops and sell to the farmers.
